Out and about....just off Oxford St.

I caught Laura as she was on her way to work and you can see why I stopped her. That pop of green with the animal print and BAM I was wide awake. This was far too good to miss. Laura works for Miss Selfridge in their head office. She is a Brand Co-Ordinator which involves working with buying, merchandising, tec and one other dept - please forgive me I was doing the interview as we walked along and as you all know my handwriting at the best of times is far from perfect....it is also why I forgot to ask what she is wearing - 2 apologies. Now I did remember to ask Laura's style influence which is high street, festivals, Mary Katrantzou and Stella McCartney, mixing high street with designer. Her favourite place in London is Covent Garden and her surprise is that she is a bit of a geek. She loves gaming and the Wii which she plays with her boyfriend.

Out and about....cool blue

When I was shooting my final image for the Filofax challenge I could see Helen and her friend Toni standing at the side of the road watching us. And I had been praying that they stick around until I had finished shooting. But life is not like that is it. By the time I had finished they had gone. However life has sometimes ways to bring people back to you, as a short while later when I decided to wrap up for the day and head home as I was heading down the escalators on the tube there was Helen futher down the escalator in front of me. Luckily both Helen and Toni are also bloggers (Helens is called Plastic lipstick at noon and Toni is called Fashitects I really should have photographed Toni too. Hopefully we will meet again at LFW) so didn't think I was totally mad and were OK to head back out of the tube to take pictures. Helen is starting a foundation art course at Ravensbourne later this month and is also working part-time in Office. This is where she got her amazing Jeffery Campbell shoes. She told me to tell you all to get down there fast before they are gone. Her style influences are Mary Kate Olsen and the street. Her favourite place is Starbucks and her favourite coffee is a macchiato. Her surprise is that she used to be a volunteer for the British Red Cross. Helen's cardy is from American Apparel. Top is H&M, leggings Miss Selfridge, bag and ring Urban Outfitters, shoes as you know Jeffery Campbell.

Out and about....liquorice allsorts

From Fashionistable
Nicola made me smile when I asked her about her style inspirations. She told me that there are a lot of things going on in her head. That London inspires her a lot and said you can be whatever character you want to be on what ever day you choose. When I asked her what character she is today she said "today I am a liquorice allsort. The coconut one with the black bit in the middle". Her favourite place in London is crossing Waterloo bridge on a Sunday. I so understand this, it is an amazing place to be at the best of times as you can see a lot of the big London landmarks from here. Her surprise for us is that she says, she is not cool really as she is really into musicals. The favourites at the moment being Westside story and Oliver. Nicola's cardy  is from Miss Selfridge, she bought her skirt in a car boot sale in Battersea, boots are Topshop and belt All Saints.

Out and about....a bit of Aussie sunshine

From Fashionistable
Ebony is from Brisbane and has been in the UK for 2 years. Her surprise for us has shaped what she does. OK so the surprise is that she describes herself as "a total geek". She used to run and IT helpdesk and loves Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However now after a super dupper presentation she created she has landed a job as one of the managers of Selfridges Beauty Hall. She wanted a change, wanted to do this so went out and got it. I love this story. Her favourite place in London is the Angel for the vintage and the outdoor market. Her favourite place in Manchester (where she spent some time) is the Northern Quarter and especially Sugar Junction tea room. Here she is wearing Karen Millen glasses, Miss Selfridge top, skirt from H&M, Topshop shoes and is carrying a Marc by Marc bag. I really like how the little orange accents flow through this outfit, from the strap of her bag, the flounce of her skirt to the stripe on her shoes. Beautifully put together.
