I first photographed Peony back LFW in February and was lucky enough to get to know her a lot more this time round. She has beautiful personal style and carries herself perfectly. So not surprisingly she is another favourite of the photographers. And even though she was jet lagged from her return from NYFC she was in great form. If you dont know her already you can see her blog here.
What she is wearing - Shot 1, Isolda London skirt, Louboutin shoes, Chanel bag, H7M top, Pure Collection cardy and she bought her scarf in Hong Kong.
Shot 2, Hermes scarf, Zara shirt, JBrand jeans, Manolo shoes and YSL bag.
Shot 3, Jacket Zara, top K by Karl Lagerfeld, trousers Missoni, Celine bag and shoes by Joseph Azoury.

Hot on the heels of her talent competition win in Vogue, Rosalind was in town for London Fashion Week. I was privilaged to spend more time with this wonderful young woman this year and we managed a couple of shots away from Somerset House. The 1st 2 shots were taken on Waterloo Bridge (which is my favourite in London because of the views in both directions of the city). The next 3 were taken after the Masha Ma show in Covent Garden. The 1st of these 3 was the one we had set up. The 2nd 2 were a gift as by pure chance we stumbled across this wonderful leafy location in the middle of the city. You can take the girl out of the country.... Our final shot was in Somerset House on Rosalind's last day in town. She had just had lunch with her Dad and honorary Uncle and popped by to say hello before heading home. Thank You Rosalind it was a pleasure.
I have just noticed she has just posted about her trip to London too. So you can pop over there with this link to read her perspective on her time at LFW.

Out and about....Milan Fashion Week - Giovanna Battaglia

From Fashionistable
The girl was not for stopping so I can't tell you what she was wearing. As you can see from her ticket she was on her way to the Marni show which was held in a lovely sun trapped courtyard full of beautiful morning light.

I had never been to Milan before and was thrown in at the deep end. The 1st day there I spent mostly walking from show to show. Not easy I can tell you as they are not always close together. 2nd day I managed to get a couple of press buses. Not ideal either as at times they leave a bit to early to catch people as they leave the shows or not early enough to reach the next show in time....hey. Public transport or taxis I hear you cry, well the trams are lovely but not extensive and the Metro also has little coverage. Taxis, you cant flag down a taxi you have to call (language barrier) them or find a hotel to call one for you. And when you do get a taxi oh boy they are expensive, makes London cabs look positively cheap. It was a great experience all the same though. And to be shooting for Vogue was just so amazing.

The very first “International Media Ethics Day” is today!

Today is being celebrated as “The International Media Ethics Day”,for the very first time. The Center for International Media Ethics – CIME iscelebrating the day in 12 countries by holding workshops and conferences. It isalso offering several online ways to participate in the event. According toCIME; the aim of the Media Ethics Day is to mobilize the journalism communityand provide journalists around the world with an opportunity to discuss mediaethics issues, examine case studies, and participate in role-plays and debatesrelated to the various ethical dilemmas they might face on the job.
India is not among these countries; though it has the most unethicaljournalists and media houses and needs to be educated. I have checked uptoday’s news and find that the Indian print and electronic media is leastinterested in this important event pertaining to their business. While rest ofthe world is agog with large scale participation, coverage and blogging onMedia Ethics, most of our print and electronic media is as usual busy withbiased, distorted and specific-agenda news and programs.
In the last few years the media industry has expanded all over thecountry and perhaps more so in Andhra Pradesh. Except for a minority ofNewspapers and TV Channels, most of these media houses serve the interests ofsome political person or party, glorifying them constantly and criticizingeveryone else. Gossip, vulgarity, crime and sensationalism of cheap stories areheadlines. And important, useful, current and correct news takes the backstageor is missing. For instance the ongoing 12-day old General Strike – ‘Sakala Janula Samme’ and the overall political situation in Telangana is covered differentlyby different media agencies to suit their interests and unfortunately createconfusion and controversies. Most of these media houses perhaps have no codesof ethics, standards or principles like truthfulness, accuracy, accountability, objectivity, fairness, and impartiality. In such a misleading situation createdby the media it is not possible for us to get correct information on mostsubjects. We may read or hear more than two sources of news; pertaining to aparticular subject and still remain confused or come to our own conclusions!

Louise Carmichael and Duncan McCormick told me the story of how they met. Louise was out for the night with her sister had just had a an argument with her. Louise decided to leave and literally on the way out the door of the Electric Ballroom in Camden she bumped into Duncan who spoke to her. Normally she said she would have just carried on but he convinced her to stay, they clicked straight away and the rest is history. So not so surprisingly their favourite place in London is Camden. Down with the rule of donkeys and pigs!…political satire to amuse you!

Decades of deceitful, devastating greedydonkeys from the neighborhood and their dilly-dallying brother donkeys andqueen donkey in the North are destroying my dominion, its development and peaceand are responsible for the ongoing…disturbance, stir.
And these donkeys have equally corrupt, overfed, armed pigs to protect them against all their misdeeds and misrule. These pigscapable of illegally and brutally harming unarmed persons fail miserably andperennially fighting in our forests. Shame on the society that gives birth tosuch donkeys and pigs, which are an insult to every animal in the world includingthe real beast of burden and the provider of bacon.
I call them donkeys and pigs very rightly andfor short, because the list of their names is a long one. And I think the listis not required as you are wise enough to know who I am referring to.
